Wilson Betemit is writhing in pain on infield and they are putting him on cart. Must have hurt leg running and collapsed.

Actually looked like injuries to both legs. Looks like a left leg hamstring and right knee hyperextension

It was ugly i think he's done for the year.

If you look closely while he hyperextended there appeared to be a rotary component also. This is more than just a hamstring. More than 15 Day DL. But, until the MRI comes back it is too early to call it season ending. It doesn't look like we'll have to worry about the option coming into play for at bats obtained for the season though.

If this injury is long-term, this gives Flaherty a chance to stick and to get some actual decent playing time at DH. He can also spell Markakis in RF while he's coming back from this neck thing while also backing up 3B, SS, 2B. Nobody likes an injury, but this just gave Flaherty a golden ticket to make this club. Alternatively, Chris Dickerson's minute chances just improved as well.

Unless Reimold stays healthy for 600 ABs and McLouth keeps up his 2nd half performance from 2012, losing Betemit would hurt quite a bit.

They don't have anyone to plug in who can give them an .850 OPS against righties.
